Maternity portraits – lifestyle, in a favourite park
About this maternity portrait session:
Richmond park is a very special place for this lovely couple, so it was an obvious choice of location for their maternity portraits. I love it when a couple have a strong connection to a place – it really shows in the photographs.
We headed to a small pond and took some photographs by the water – including a few with a print from their pregnancy scan. There was something special about seeing a photo of the baby in the womb, while the parents were standing by a body of water – maybe I was feeling especially broody but it felt like the parents were sharing the baby’s experience somehow, of being surrounded by water.
Kelly’s mother was also with us – she’d come over to say to support the couple during this special time in their lives, so of course she was incorporated into the maternity photographs too. It’s lovely to see such a strong mother-daughter bond, and a real privilege to photograph it.
Using a long lens so we didn’t disturb the animals, I also photographed the couple near Richmond Park’s most famous residents – the beautiful deer that live in the park.
“I have a love for photos as they are a way to capture those special moments in time. It can be really difficult to find a good photographer who has the style of photo that you are looking for. I really liked Louise’s portfolios online and contacted her to find out more. She was super organized and got back to me quickly. She was flexible and accommodating about where we wanted the shoot as well. On the day of our shoots, she was relaxed and made us feel at ease. I absolutely adore the maternity and newborn photos that she took for us and she surpassed all our expectations. They were natural and so beautiful! If you are struggling to decide on which photographer to choose, look no further, I can highly recommend Louise, so book with her! Thanks again Louise for our precious photos, we are so happy with them and really enjoyed working with you. We look forward to working with you in the future”. Kelly
