Tuition: how it works

Private tuition

Did you get a fancy camera last Christmas and still use it on AUTO mode? Learn simple techniques that will help you take better photos!

Sessions are presented in a relaxed and easy to understand way.

Bring your camera and we’ll check you can find all the settings as we go.

Tuition takes places in a private meeting room at our office in Clapham Old Town – with two hour’s free visitor parking available.

These sessions cost £250 for 1.5 hours.

Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Make your booking here.

I’ll explain the camera settings to you, and we’ll wander around taking photographs – putting what you’ve learnt into practice. By the end of the session, you’ll be comfortable setting the aperture, shutter speed and ISO – and taking better photographs!

We’ll meet at my office in Clapham Old Town, and walk around the area as you master the camera settings.

These sessions cost £350 for three hours.

Group sessions

Join us for a fun afternoon and learn how to use your camera. These are fun and relaxed afternoons, and suitable for beginners.

Our next workshops will be in the Summer 2017 – email us to register your interest and be the first to hear when booking opens.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll know how to choose appropriate camera settings, and will have improved your composition and knowledge of what makes a great photograph.

Each workshop costs £75, and includes:

  • an hour discussing the key camera settings – what they do, and how to use them
  • an hour out and about taking photographs, putting what you’ve learnt into practise
  • advice and guidance throughout the afternoon on improving your photography
  • an hour’s debrief at the end in a warm cafe or pub where we can discuss the photographs taken and any remaining technical questions
  • an 8×12″ fine art giclée print of a photograph you take on the session.
