I’m a family and portrait photographer living in Balham – in what I’m pleased to say is becoming a bit of a foodie-hub. I have an 11 year old daughter, and a cheeky Cockapoo.
My professional experience
My photography and customer service are award-winning, with 11 years experience as a full-time family and portrait photographer.
My photographs have been published in over 20 publications (including The Observer, Vogue, Tatler, Baby London & Mothering.com), and exhibited internationally.
I know photography inside out. I’m one of the only family photographers in London to have an MA in photography. Previously, I managed a photography gallery for four years.
I’m a mum myself. I understand first-hand the importance of having wonderful photographs to capture your little one’s childhood.
I live in a cosy house (that I’m constantly re-decorating!) with my drawing-obsessed ten year old daughter, our cockapoo and our two little fish – who somehow put up with us when we’re dancing in the kitchen.
My favourite things in the world are spending time with family and friends, travelling and eating out.
I spend a lot of time with my daughter, and nothing makes me happier than having a picnic with her on a lovely sunny day. She loves setting the table for a party so we seem to be constantly inviting people over! Our favourite way to spend an afternoon is colouring in, or an epic crafting session.
I strongly believe in giving back. I volunteer as a Food Waste Hero for Olio, collecting surplus food from a supermarket each week and distributing it so nothing goes to landfill.
I’m proud to have supported Street Child by donating my photography – such a great charity, creating educational opportunities for some of the world’s poorest children. I’ve also had the immense privilege of running photography workshops for patients at Trinity Hospice and for Homerton Hospital as well as Dulwich Picture Gallery’s programme for older people. Their art programmes are inspirational and really lifts the spirits of the participants.
My photographs have been exhibited internationally, and published in national newspapers and magazines including The Observer, Vogue, Tatler, Baby London and ITV News.
Recognised as an expert on family photography, I’ve written articles providing advice and guidance for family photographers in the Canon magazine, Practical Photography magazine, Creative Photographer, FStoppers, Digital Photography School, Mothering magazine – and many others.
“If you’re looking for family shots which are a cut above the rest in terms of quality and style, Louise is the photographer for you!” Jessica
My clients tend to be looking for a photographer who won’t make you pose awkwardly, will make the session fun and easy and knows what it’s like to have kids – and that’s what I do!
