Business photographer: photography for an interior designer in London

I have so much respect for interior designers, so it was fascinating to me to photograph an interior designer at work. We discussed a potential shot list beforehand, and decided to photograph Vicky’s portfolio, some fabric swatches, using design software, the tools of the trade (such as sample trays, colour wheels and a scale ruler), and taking inspiration from interior design magazines and books. We took photographs in different rooms to reflect different colour. The overall aim was to capture the element of doing in interior design, to encapsulate the process. I also took a selection of headshots so Vicky can show up in her socials and website.

Vicky’s approach to interior design can be described as traditional with a contemporary mix. She tends to source high street items, with some bespoke items mixed in. Her room designs are quietly colourful. You could sum up her design approach by thinking of Soho Home, with a Loaf sofa – my dream home, in other words! Her website is under development, but here’s the link: https://victoriacookdesign.com/

“I am extremely happy with the photographs. Louise was professional from start to finish. I’m usually reluctant to get in front of the camera, but she did an amazing job at putting me at ease. Louise really understood what I wanted to achieve from the shoot and her experience really shone through. She delivered above and beyond the brief.” Vicky
