Child model agencies typically require a head and shoulders shot, and a full-length shot. It’s best to include one photo with hair up, and one with hair down, so talent scouts can see the range of hair options.

A range of expressions is also a good idea – your final selection should include a mix of smiley shots and more neutral expressions. Equally, a change of outfit is recommended as it helps to show the different brands your child might represent.

The photo session will take around half an hour, keeping it fun and relaxed for your little one.

I bring a pop-up white backdrop with me, and we only need a window. I can also bring portable lights if you’re worried about your home not being well lit, but artificial lighting is rarely needed.
