“We absolutely love the photos Louise took at our baby’s christening. This is the second time we have booked Louise for photos – we love her natural and relaxed style. She slotted in discretely and got loads of great pictures of all our guests (as well as the star of the show, our baby boy!). Louise managed to capture so many people looking so natural and enjoying themselves.” Matthew

About this christening in Putney – Southwest London

What a wonderful day, full of celebration and laughter! It was a beautiful service at the Church Of Our Lady Of Pity and Simon Stock in Putney, SW15. Photography isn’t allowed during the service at this church, so I took some photographs immediately after the service of the family and godparents, before photographing the reception at the Duke’s Head in Putney – southwest London. Even without the service itself, by photographing the church and the details inside it, and the guests chatting and laughing afterwards, the order of service, and a couple of photographs showing the congregation before they disbanded, it’s still possible to create a good sense of the day.

The Duke’s Head is a beautiful venue, with lots of light flooding through the big windows. In fact, I love it so much I had my engagement party there! It’s right on the riverside, so it was easy for the family to come out for some some family group shots by the water. The older cousins rapidly got drawn into skimming stones and watching the geese that came right up to the shoreline, and of course I also photographed those playful moments too.

I photographed the christening cake and cake pops, as well as gift bags – these all go such a long way to documenting the story of the day.

This little baby was such a social chap, and more than happy to be passed between family and friends. It was such an honour to be able to capture him spending this day with loved ones – and to be surrounded by so much happiness throughout.
