Photographing families in Balham is so special for me – as a Balham-ite myself I love photographing other families here! I’ve loved raising my own daughter in Balham, and expect we’ll be here for years to come.
Having Clapham common and Tooting common on the doorstep is fantastic. We love the massive range of kid-friendly restaurants – you’ll often find us in Pho!
Knowing the area inside out means I can suggest some great locations on the commons for your own photo session. We can discuss which park might suit you best, and we can also visit your local playground if you prefer.

First, photographs at home in Balham
In my experience, it’s best to meet at home first so your children can meet me where they feel most comfortable. It’s wonderful to be able to photograph them playing in their own environment, incorporating their favourite toys and activities.
We move around your home at your child’s pace, taking photographs in rooms where the space and light work best. Don’t worry about how your home will work for photographs – I can take beautiful photographs in any home!

Photographing a family in Balham
The weather was so beautiful for this family portrait session. It was an easy decision to not only take some photographs at home and in the garden, but also to go out to nearby Tooting Bec Common.
The sunshine provided the most beautiful warm light in which to photograph this lovely family.
I spent a little time taking portraits of the two girls individually. They were both full of wonder and amusement, it was a joy to capture their enthusiasm.
I also took some photographs of the girls playing together. At the common, I took some relaxed family portraits of the parents with their children strolling through the park together.
My favourite moment from this session is of the two girl cuddling – melts my heart!
