A happy family with their treasured pet in Wandsworth with autumn leaves on the ground

Family photographer Battersea

Photographing families in Battersea brings back such fond memories of spending time here with my own daughter. I whiled away many an afternoon pushing the buggy round the park. We’re still here so often, making the most of the long cycling routes through Battersea Park, and of course we never grow tired of the zoo! I love photographing families here, imagining the memories these children will develop of the area. And knowing that the photographs we take here will bring back wonderful memories for them of their life in Battersea!

First, photographs at home in Battersea

Family portrait sessions usually start off at home, so your children can meet me where they feel most comfortable. It’s wonderful to photograph them playing in their own environment, incorporating their favourite toys and activities. We move around your home at your child’s pace, taking photographs in rooms where the space and light work best.

Then, outdoor family photography in Battersea

I always suggest a trip outdoors too on family sessions. We can go out to your garden, or go on a trip to your favourite park.

Battersea families often opt for Battersea park for their outdoor photographs. The pond makes a great backdrop, and the ducks are always a hit with little ones.  The landscaped areas are also fun for children to explore, and the open areas of greenery off the beaten track are a lovely secluded spot.

Wandsworth Common or Clapham Common are also great options. I know lots of spots in both commons that are away from the main paths so we can avoid passersby.

Which park you choose really depends on which is closest to you and where you spend more time as a family. If you’re not sure which might suit you best, we can discuss that.

Knowing these parks as both a parent and as a photographer means I can take you to spots that will make for great photographs, and that your children will really enjoy exploring.
