Family walking in Clapham Common

Family photographer Clapham SW4

As a local family photographer, I find myself photographing families in Clapham a lot. I was living in Clapham South when I set up my business, and I raised my daughter there until she was three. We’ve been living in Balham since then, and love having Clapham Common so close to hand. I love photographing families here, re-visiting our favourite spots on the common and seeing the new generation create their own memories here.

“Wonderful, natural photos – one of which made its way into an exhibition. Louise made us all feel at ease during the shoot and was a pleasure to deal with afterwards.” Michael

First, photographs at home in Clapham

I always recommend starting your family portrait session at home. Let your children meet me and get used to the camera where they feel most comfortable – this goes for parents too! My sessions are always child led, so we’ll play whichever games take their fancy that day. There’s plenty of time built in for snacks and cuddles – whatever your baby or children need. Letting children become really engrossed in their activities is when their personalities really shine through. I love photographing those moments, capturing memories for you in each one.

“We were delighted with the photographs. The entire experience was very relaxed and resulted in some great, natural shots – exactly what we wanted.” Chris

Outdoor locations for Clapham family photography

I always suggest a trip outside on a family portrait session. Clapham is spoilt for choice with picturesque spots. Having brought my own daughter up in Clapham, I know Clapham Common like the back of my hand and can take you to some very pretty spots for your photographs. The pond works so well, as does the bandstand, and the woodland areas nearby.

We can also go to Wandsworth Common or Battersea Park if you spend more time there as a family. Both work very well for family photographs. I’m more than happy to discuss which park might suit your family best.
