Family photographer Richmond

Photographing families in Richmond is a real treat for me, as it brings back lovely memories of my own childhood! My mum loved taking us to Richmond park – we loved exploring in the bracken as children, and running down the hills. I really enjoy photographing families in Richmond, thinking of the memories children growing up here will develop of the area. Knowing the park as both a parent and photographer is great for family portraits. I can take you to spots that work really for photographs and that your children will enjoy exploring.

First, family photographs at home in Richmond

In my experience, it’s best to meet at home first so your children can meet me where they feel most comfortable. It’s wonderful to be able to photograph them playing in their own environment, incorporating their favourite toys and activities.

We move around your home at your child’s pace, taking photographs in rooms where the space and light work best. Don’t worry about how your home will work for photographs – I can take beautiful photographs in any home!

Then, outdoor Richmond family photography

We’ll usually head outside after an hour or so, to spend some time in your favourite park.

I find that the variety of indoor and outdoor photographs creates a really varied set of photographs. Lots of different colours, different light and different activities!

Richmond park is one of my favourite parks to photograph families in. The open meadows are so picturesque, and the pond and ancient trees also make interesting backdrops. The woodland areas are lots of fun for toddlers to explore.

King George’s Field is another option that works well for family photographs. It’s small but quieter, far fewer people there than in Richmond park. The meadows are pretty, and the path makes a nice location too.

We can also go to your local park or playground. If you’re not sure which park you’d like to have your photographs taken in, think about where you spend the most time. Having photographs in a park that’s meaningful to you in very special. We can discuss your nearby parks and choose the one that will work best.
