What happens in a typical headshot or branding session?
You can choose between a Personal Branding Session (for a set of images with lots of character and variety) or an Indoor Headshot Session (for a more traditional portrait with a studio backdrop).
Personal Branding Sessions are more relaxed as we don’t have any time pressure, and they’re more comprehensive as we can include multiple locations, multiples outfits and multiple looks. Indoor Headshots are 30 minutes long, in one location and wearing one outfit.
First and foremost, I promise you don’t need to worry about whether you’re photogenic. I’ll help you to feel at ease and I’ll give you some gentle pointers on how to stand and hold yourself for the most flattering photograph. I even go so far as to promise that you’ll enjoy the session.
1. Personal branding sessions
If you’d like a range of photos to use across your website (eg for your contact page, about page and to illustrate the services offered) as well as for social media profiles and posts, a personal branding session is the best option for you.
This is also the best option is you’d like a variety of locations – we can wander around a bit, choosing some locations that reflect your personality and your business. This gives you plenty of choice for your profile photo, and also means you can have a different look and feel for use across your website – so the photo on your about page can have a different location and outfit to your contact page, for example.
Each session will be tailored to you and your business, but a typical branding session includes a selection of headshots & portraits that give a sense of the person behind the business. If they’d be useful for your website, social media or marketing materials, we can also take some photos of you working with clients, relaxing off-duty and glimpses into your personal life (pets, partners, friends).
Best of both worlds, if you’d like a traditional studio-style portrait as well, we can incorporate that into your session too!
2. Indoor Headshot
If you’re just after a more corporate / traditional headshot, then the Indoor Headshot option is for you: one location, one outfit.
We can meet at your home or workplace, and I can bring a pop-up backdrop for a studio look if you’d like.

What kind of photos can you expect?
1. Personal branding sessions
Personal branding sessions typically include a wide range of headshots and portraits, in locations that reflect your personality and style. If they’re useful for you, we can also photograph you working with clients, glimpses of your personal life (e.g. with your partner or pets) and shots of you relaxing off-duty. Anything that will help you tell your story in photos!
Preparing for your headshot or branding shoot
To see if I might be the right photographer for you, I firstly suggest a free 15-minute consultation. We can discuss what you need from your headshot or personal branding photos, and see if I’ll be a good fit for you.
After you’ve booked your shoot, I’ll send you a questionnaire so you can tell me more about you (and your brand, if these are for work). Then, we’ll have a pre-session phone consultation in which we’ll discuss your shoot in more detail, and make a plan for what I’ll photograph in your shoot.
I’ll also send you a prep guide, which includes recommendations on clothing and makeup, and will leave you feeling fully prepared for your shoot.

Locations for your headshot or branding shoot
1. Personal branding sessions
I can come to your home or workplace, we can go for a walk outside or go to your favourite park. My years of experience mean I have a massive location bank – I can suggest outdoor locations that will fit your personality and your brand. If you’d prefer a more controlled environment, you might consider:
- Styled Home Studios
- House in Balham (£150), owned by an interior designer
- Staged home office in Putney (£100)

2. Indoor Headshots
We can take your headshot in your home or workplace. I use natural light, so I only need a window! I can bring a pop-up white backdrop for a studio style shot, or we can include more of your home in the backdrop. If you’d prefer, we can hire a studio in Brixton, North Kensington or Angel (£100-140 hire fee depending on location).
