Newborn photographer Kensington

A full-time family photographer, I’ve been photographing newborns and children in Kensington & Chelsea for ten years now. Having spent so much time in the area as a child myself, it’s a total delight to photograph the new generation here.

My newborn portrait sessions usually take place at home. There’s a lot going on with newborns! Having everything you might need close to hand is so convenient for new parents. Plus there’s no need to try and leave the house on time to meet me – borderline impossible with a new baby.

Using window light is very effective with newborns, it creates a beautiful and soft light. Being at home, around familiar smells and sounds, also helps with keeping newborns calm and settled.

Over the course of the morning, I gradually photograph the baby individually, as well as older siblings, parents holding their baby and the whole family together. My sessions are always baby led, so I choose the moments to take each of these when they occur naturally.
