What to expect from your photography session

“I really recommend Louise. She takes beautiful, natural photographs in your home and outside. She makes your home and family look lovely, but the photos still feel very real. Louise is a warm and reassuring person, and works hard to give you exactly what you’re looking for.” Louisa

Booking process for your photoshoot

I’ll email you the booking options – and for families and christenings, a copy of the products guide (with a breakdown for every option), so you can see what will suit your family best.

Once we’ve agreed a date and time that’s convenient for you, I’ll send you the relevant booking link.

The online booking process is quick and simple, and confirms your booking. You can make your payment by credit / debit card or by bank transfer, it’s entirely up to you.

I have a simple pricing structure and no hidden surprises.

Preparing for your photo session

I’ll send you an information gathering form, to collate your priorities and what you’d like from your photographs. This gives us a great starting point for discussing your session, and how to make the most of it.

You’ll receive a prep guide, including tips and pointers on how to get ready for your session, and what to wear.

We’ll schedule a time for a chat to run through your session, and what to have to hand.

With christenings, we’ll run through your plans for the day and discuss any particular issues with the church or venue.

Feel free to ask me any questions you might have.

It’s really helpful for me to get a sense of what you’re looking for from your photographs, so I can create images for you that you really love.

I’ll also send you a set of suggestions for what to wear, and some more detailed pointers.

Your portrait session itself: capturing the moments that matter

I'm a mum myself, and very experienced with helping little ones (and grown ups!) to relax and be themselves.

Family life isn't perfect, so don't worry about how the kids will behave!

With child and family sessions, I’ll spend a bit of time when I arrive getting your children used to me being around, and will always work at their pace – whenever they want a change of scene or a different activity, that’s what we’ll do. There’s no rush, and plenty of time to stop for snacks or some time out.

In maternity portrait sessions, I make sure you both feel comfortable – and promise never to make you feel awkward or silly!

I’ll capture both photographs of you as a couple, and individual portraits of mum-to-be, as well as photographs of your bump itself – it’s absolutely up to you if you’d like to take them with or without clothing over your bump.

With christenings, I'm very discreet and you’ll barely notice being photographed during the service.

I'll always make sure I'm aware of any restrictions the priest or vicar might have on where I stand, or which moments I can photograph.

I'm respectful of the service, and will look to capture the spirit of the day for you.

We'll take the photos in a location that makes most sense for you: in your home, workplace, in a studio or outdoors.

Sessions typically last around half an hour, and we'll take photos in a couple of different locations if we're outdoors.

If we're indoors, we'll take the photos near a window. You don't need to tidy up!

If you'd like, I can bring a pop-up white backdrop with me; or we can take more natural photos that include a hint of your surroundings.

Half-day sessions last up to 3 hours, and full-day sessions last up to 6 hours.

We'll choose locations that reflect your business - typically, your workplace or your home.

Social media packs are designed to give you a huge range of photos to post on your social media. They typically include a mix of headshots, your team working, your workplace or venue, your products, and your clients enjoying your services.

A One-Week Pack lastd up to 1 hour, with 7 digitals included.

A One-Month Pack lasts up to 3 hours, with 30 digitals included.

You have the opportunity to purchase additional images from your shoot (£35 each).

Editing your photographs

Your photographs will be lovingly edited. I spend a great deal of care editing each photograph – creating both a colour and B&W version of each image.

The hours spent in post-production result in a series of striking images that will work well together as a series, or that can be printed or framed individually.

Viewing your photographs

Your photographs will be ready to view one week after I take your photographs (two weeks for christenings or business photography sessions), on a password-protected online gallery.

With family sessions and christenings, you can order fine art prints, frames or albums from your online gallery.

Design support with products

If you’d like to order frames or an album but are unsure of which size or format to choose, I can help.

My design degree and previous role managing a photography gallery means I can give you expert support in selecting the ideal frame or album options for your photographs.

We can create something beautiful together, so you can really make the most of your photographs.

You can look through print, frame and album samples at your session.

Design call

Around a week after your session, we’ll have your design call – either on Zoom or in-person – where you can see scale mockups to see exactly how different size frames would look on your walls, and we can discuss what will suit your home best.

If you’re considering creating an album, I’ll show the sizes and formats so you can make your album just the way you’d like it.

Zoom calls are no obligation; in-person meetings have a £500 minimum spend.

Rest assured that I promise no hard sell – simply support and guidance with any products you choose to order.

“Our photographs are up in our hallway, and we’ve had so many people comment on what beautiful pictures they are. We’re really pleased we did the sessions, and that we picked you.” Dianne

Albums, frames and giclée fine art prints

I only commission the leading craftspeople to offer you the very best products available. The framers and album suppliers I use are specialists, and only work with professional photographers.
